The golf course at Nuwara Eliya in Sri Lanka has a high growth potential for cool-season grass throughout the year. Although one can find Poa annua and other cool-season grasses there, the dominant species growing at this location are all warm-season grasses. The greens are primarily blue couch or serangoongrass (Digitaria didacyla). The fairways are primarily kikuyugrass (Pennisetum clandestinum) and narrowleaf carpetgrass (Axonopus fissifolius).
