TifEagle spring transition experiment: Step 1

View Larger Tifeagle bermudagrass is heavily shaded for several months each year by a layer that is composed of overseeded turf, sand, mat and accumulated organic matter. To evaluate the effect of the overseeded layer on the spring transition of the TifEagle turf underneath, the overseeded layer was peeled back by hand. Sample was taken in April, 2007 from a TifEagle green in the Palm Springs, CA area that had been overseeded with Poa trivialis and ryegrass the previous October.
