Salinity tolerance of poa vs. bentgrass

View Larger The arrow points to salt-stressed and dying poa. The green grass is bentgrass. The electrical conductivity of the soil under both areas was 6 dS/m. The collar area was sodded to bentgrass the previous year. Poa can only tolerate a soil salinity up to about 4 dS/m. Bentgrasses can tolerate 6 - 8 dS/m.
