P fertilizer recommendations by three different methods

This chart shows the P fertilizer recommendations that would be made across a range of nitrogen fertilizer levels for 1,000 different soils (sites). The P content of the soils was simulated based on the P content of the Global Soil Survey results.

The MLSN method accounts for both the P in the soil and the grass use of P. The amount of P needed as fertilizer is adjusted based on both the starting amount of P in the soil, and based on the amount of P the grass can use.
