Gray leaf spot on ryegrass
Photo provided by Chris Harriman, Cattail Creek Country Club. Ryegrass has been killed by gray leaf spot (GLS) while GLS tolerant tall fescue remains healthy. Chris is replacing ryegrass with tall fescue where it is appropriate. Using resistant varieties is the cornerstone of IPM programs. Unfortunately, GLS resistant ryegrass varieties sometimes fail under heavy GLS pressure.
