Frost on a fairway fairy ring
View LargerFrost appeared on the leading edge of a fairy ring on a golf course fairway (korai, Zoysia matrella) in Itoshima, Fukuoka, Japan. The fairway grown on sandy soil, the weather recently had been rainy, and the appearance of frost only on the fairy ring edge is suspected to be because of drier soil due to hydrophobic conditions caused by the fairy ring.
