Brown ring patch chemical control
Brown ring patch, caused by Waitea circinata, was curatively controlled very well by the conventional fungicide Prostar (flutolanil)at 2.2 oz/1000 sq ft, and by a biological such as Endorse (polyoxin-D)at 4.0 oz/1000 sq ft. Interestingly, the surfactant Revolution L at 6.0 oz/1000 sq ft provided significant control, perhaps as a result of increased soil moisture levels.
Previous research has shown that increased soil moisture can aid in control of brown ring patch. Trial conducted spring, 2008 at Torrey Pines Golf Course, San Diego, CA. Frank Wong, Chi-Min Chen, Larry Stowell and Wayne Carpenter cooperators.
