Southern California, July, 2013. Summer patch caused by the fungus, Magnaporthe poae, is always a threat to Poa annua greens in warm environments. Bottom photo was taken with a microscope and shows the poa root colonized by dark runner hyphae produced by the fungus. See the PACE Turf Summer Patch Reference for more information.
