Spring dead spot prevention timing

For SDS prevention on non-overseeded bermudagrass, the first fenarimol (Rubigan) application should be made 6 weeks before average air temperatures drop below 50F (10C). To predict when this will occur, review your Weather History from the past few years for late summer/early fall months. In this 2008 example from Larence Kansas, average air temps stayed pretty well below 50F after October 22. The first Rubigan application should therefore be made around September 10.
