Salinity damage

View Larger This poa green was suffering from patches of yellowing and dead turf. When electrical conductivity readings were taken from damaged vs. relatively healthy turf with a Field Scout EC meter, it was easy to see what had happened. Salinity had accumulated to very high levels in the damaged areas. Poa can usually tolerate up to 3dS/m, while the damaged areas had readings of 8.4 dS/m. Read here about how to monitor soil salinity, and how to leach to address this problem.
