Modified warm season growth potential model

The PACE Turf Growth Potential (GP) model has been modified to more fairly represent warm season turfgrass growth at high temperatures. Warm season (C4) turfgrass GP will no longer drop when estimated optimum temperature of 88 F (31 C) has been exceeded. Once average air temperature reaches optimum temperature, the warm season GP remains at 100% assuming that there is no temperature restrictions upon growth of warm season grasses above 88 F (31C). This change has been made following persistent hounding by Dr. Micah Woods, Asian Turfgrass Center, and observations by Jim Schmidt at The Lakes Golf and Country Club in Palm Desert, CA.
