Flat fan vs. flood nozzles

Spray droplet distribution varies greatly among different nozzles, as illustrated using water sensitive paper. Note the large droplets and uneven distribution from the flood nozzle vs. the more even distribution and smaller droplet size from flat fan nozzles. For this reason, flat fan nozzles enhance pesticide efficacy in comparison to flood nozzles.
