Effect of mowing and rolling on green speed

Mowing twice daily and rolling every other day resulted in high green speeds, even with higher mowing heights. Increased mowing heights, and more frequent mowing and rolling can reduce anthracnose severity, while still keeping green speeds high. Data from summers of 2004 and 2005, as reported in Inguagiato et. al., May 2009, Golf Course Management. Treatments in green had significantly faster green speeds than the standard treatment of greens mowed at 0.110", with 1X daily mowing and no rolling. The treatment in red had significantly slower speeds than the standard treatment.
