Daily Light Integral (DLI) is an estimate of Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR) that reaches the plant during a day. Rough guidelines for DLI needed for robust growth cool season C3 and warm season C4 grasses are 20 mol/m^2/day and 40 mol/m^2/day respectively. These data were obtained from the NASA Langley Research Center POWER Project funded through the NASA Earth Science Directorate Applied Science Program. Dr. Micah Woods at the Asian Turfgrass Center provided assistance with computations and he has also provided a discussion of DLI requirements for warm season grass species
