PACE Weather Alert from Columbia Missouri (zipcode 65201). Dr. Lee Miller, Missouri University (@MUturfpath on Tiwtter) observed dollar spot attacking A4 bentgrass research plots on April 29th, 2019. The modified Smith-Kerns model indicated that the disease may have just become active around April 23rd through April 25th. According to Dr. Miller the Smith-Kerns model reached 15% at the time of the observation of disease on April 29th. After April 29th, conditions began to be more conducive for disease. Enhanced scouting for dollar spot should commence when the modified Smith-Kerns model exceeds 20%. Fungicide applications should begin at the first signs of dollar spot.
