Brown ring patch

View Larger June, 2008, Southern California. Poa greens exhibiting green rings following control of brown ring patch caused by Waitea circinata var. circinata. The greening is thought to be the result of thatch degradation by the brown ring patch and release of nitrogen. Once the pathogen has been controlled the area where the disease was located becomes greener.
