Odd growth pattern of Tifway II bermuda. The suspected cause is decomposition of thatch similar to that caused by fairy ring but in this case a close relative, Rhizoctonia may be involved. Following incubation for only 24 hrs in a moist chamber, mycelium with typical right angle branching burst out of the tissues and thatch soil interface.
