Anthracnose weather at UCR

Dr. Jim Baird (@UCRturfgrass on Twitter with credit to Dr. Pawel Petelewicz @petelewicz on Twitter) noted that he has the best anthracnose disease control trial since he inherited the program. There has been plenty of stress to help Colletritchum cereale take charge. A component of any anthracnose trial is turfgrass stress and the conditions at UCR have been stressful due to high temperatures. Hopefully, some grass will be around for their 2020 Virtual Field Days. There has been plenty of stress with high temperatures driving cool season growth potential into the single digits to help Colletritchum cereale take charge.
