Adult stage of the frit fly

This small (about 1/16 inch, or 1.6 mm) insect is the adult stage of the frit fly. It doesn't cause damage to the turf, but the larval or maggot stage of the frit fly does. Photo courtesy of Ruth O'Neill, Montana State University.
