Wireworm damage

Small dead spots of turf appeared on poa greens soon after fall aeration. The damage was caused by wireworms, who apparently found the sand filled aeration holes very appealing. Damage is due to underground feeding by wireworms on plant roots. See this Reference on wireworms for more information.
